According to statistics, in Q1 2024, Malta recorded 76,562 cruise passengers, with 95.8% being transit passengers and the largest group (32.4%) aged 40-59.

In Q1 2024, Malta’s National Statistics Office recorded 76,562 cruise passengers. Of these, 95.8% were transit passengers, while only 4.2% disembarked. The 19 cruise liner calls during this period were fewer than the same time in 2023. Notably, the largest passenger group (32.4%) fell within the 40-59 age bracket, indicating a shift in tourism trends compared to pre-pandemic data when the 60-79 age group was predominant (32.2%).
