Among all EU destinations, one of the indicators that has significantly improved since pre-pandemic levels is the share of tourist accommodation capacity with internet speeds exceeding 100 Mb/s. According to the EU Tourism Dashboard, the average share across EU countries increased from 10.0% in 2019 to 62.7% in 2023. This reflects a higher degree of digital infrastructure and potentially better internet connectivity available to tourists. Notably, Portugal and Malta lead the way with values of 83.5% and 83.2%, respectively. Meanwhile, Austria and the Czech Republic still have room for development, with values of 38.2% and 39.9%, respectively.
