According to statistics, in 2022, Spain, France, Italy, and Germany were the top EU destinations for tourist accommodation nights, with Spain leading at 451.6 million nights.

According to the EU Tourism Dashboard, in 2022, Spain, France, Italy, and Germany were the most popular EU destinations in terms of nights spent at tourist accommodation establishments. The total nights ranged from 400.4 million in Germany to 451.6 million in Spain. These same countries also led in 2019, with tourist nights ranging from 436.7 million in Italy to 469.8 million in Spain. While the pandemic led to a decrease in tourism demand compared to 2019, these countries continue to play a leading role in attracting tourists.
