As of 2022, the EU Tourism Dashboard awarded the highest number of environmental labels and schemes to France (999), Netherlands (696), Spain (624), Greece (509), and Austria (430). These figures indicate the extent to which tourist accommodation services in these countries are actively participating in the green transition by minimizing their environmental impact. Conversely, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland had no environmental labels or schemes, signifying a lack of engagement in sustainable practices among accommodations in those destinations at that time.
