In 2023, Italy witnessed 4.1 million business trips, as reported by Istat. The most frequented categories were trips for congresses, conventions, conferences, and seminars, as well as business meetings, each constituting 17.8% of the total business travel. However, the overall number of business trips has not rebounded to pre-pandemic levels, reaching only 52.8% of the total recorded in 2019. Istat, the Italian National Institute of Statistics, offers a free, automatically updated statistical database where users can select criteria and explore detailed data on business trips to Italy.
