In 2022, most Croatians traveled abroad to visit friends and relatives (41.5%), while domestically, seaside vacations were the top reason (45.6%), with gastronomic experiences being the least popular (0.1%).

In 2022, the primary reason for Croatians traveling abroad was to visit friends and relatives, accounting for 41.5% of all trips. This was followed by sightseeing, excursions, and cultural or entertainment activities, which made up 30.5% of the total. Domestically, the main motivation for travel was seaside vacations, such as swimming and tanning, comprising 45.6% of all trips. The least popular reason for travel, both domestically and internationally, was for gastronomic experiences, at just 0.1%.
