In 2023, the South Aegean region led Greece in tourism revenue distribution, contributing 27.0% to the total, followed closely by Crete with 26.3%, and Attica with 19.2%. Notably, Crete and Attica saw an increase in their revenue shares from 20.4% and 14.7% respectively in 2019, while the South Aegean experienced a decline from 29.3%. On the other end of the spectrum, the regions contributing the least were Western Macedonia at 0.3%, North Aegean at 0.8%, and Central Greece also at 0.8%, all of which saw a decrease from their 2019 figures. Comprehensive data on this subject is accessible through the Greek Tourism Analytics Dashboard (GTAD), developed by the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (INSETE). This public statistical database is available at no cost and can be customized to meet individual requirements.
