According to statistics, the confidence indicator for the EU tourism ecosystem hit its lowest point in May 2020 at -76.1 but recovered to become one of the top 4 ecosystems by October 2021, maintaining this position through April 2024.

As per the Joint Harmonized EU Program of Business and Consumer Surveys, the confidence indicator for the tourism ecosystem in the EU  showed its vulnerability during COVID-19, hitting its lowest point in May 2020 with a value of -76.1, far below the other ecosystems. It then steadily recovered, reaching its peak at 23.4 in October 2021, becoming one of the top 4 out of the 14 ecosystems. Remarkably, it has maintained this position from March 2022 until April 2024, despite ongoing challenges, highlighting its enhanced resilience.
