In 2023, Slovak residents took a total of 11.0 million trips. Of these, 64.2% (7.1 million) were domestic, with the majority being for leisure, recreation, and holidays (51.9% of all domestic trips), followed by visits to relatives and friends (37.3%). Meanwhile, 35.8% (3.9 million) of the trips were abroad, with most of these also for leisure, recreation, and holidays (74.8% of all outbound trips). This trend in travel preferences remained consistent with pre-pandemic values from 2019.
