The Sustainable EU Tourism project hosted a series of three 90-minute webinars aimed at equipping participants with practical knowledge on EU tools and resources that support sustainable tourism. The sessions also introduced the twinning methodology developed within the project to foster collaboration among Destination Management Organisations (DMOs). These webinars were open to all DMOs, as well as the wider EU tourism ecosystem:

  • Unlocking EU funding for sustainable and resilient tourism – 4 June 2025. This webinar offered practical guidance on accessing EU funding opportunities for sustainable tourism. Participants learned how to navigate major programmes such as Interreg, Horizon Europe, and Erasmus+, with expert tips on crafting successful applications. The session covered how to identify relevant calls and partners, and provided insights into key project elements like work packages, milestones, reporting requirements, and funding mechanisms. Watch the recording and download the presentation to explore the full content.
  • Building capacity and fostering cooperation in tourism 16 June 2025. This webinar highlighted key tools and mechanisms supporting capacity building and peer-to-peer exchange, i.e. the EU Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Environmental Implementation Review (TAIEX-EIR PEER-2-PEER), Cohesion Policy, and the European Urban Initiative. Real-life beneficiary experiences were shared, followed by a Q&A session. Watch the recording and download the presentation to explore the full content.
  • Practical tools for sustainable and resilient tourism through twinning and cooperation – 30 June 2025. This webinar introduced practical methodologies and tools to support EU destinations in designing and implementing effective twinning initiatives, with a practical example of a project developed during one of the workshops. The session also included an interactive matchmaking activity to encourage collaboration among destinations, along with a presentation of the Communication Toolkit specifically tailored for tourism destinations. Watch the recording, download the presentation to explore the full content, and view the Mural to scout for potential project partners.
