The European Commission has launched the application process for the 2027 European Green Capital and Green Leaf Awards. European cities focused on sustainability are encouraged to submit their applications by 15 April 2025. These awards recognise cities for their achievements in reducing environmental impacts and improving residents' quality of life. Winners will receive a financial prize and become part of a network of pioneering European cities in sustainability.
