On 10 October 2025, the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform will host an online webinar entitled "Trails and routes for tourism development." This session will examine how properly designed cultural and natural trails can become powerful tools for sustainable tourism, fostering local economies, enabling visitors to explore traditions and landscapes, and strengthening community bonds.
The webinar will feature insights from leading experts, including a keynote by the Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes and perspectives on good practices from Interreg Europe projects, such as the West Flanders bicycle network and the Sandomierz Apple Trail. The event will conclude with a Q&A, offering participants a chance to engage directly with speakers and explore how these models can be applied in their own regions.
This webinar is particularly relevant to policymakers, tourism developers, regional authorities, and cultural heritage stakeholders. It promises to be a valuable learning opportunity for anyone involved in designing and managing trails, enhancing cultural tourism, or pursuing regional growth through sustainable mobility.
We recommend registering and attending to tap into the expert advice and peer learning this event offers. You can sign up and find additional details here: https://www.interregeurope.eu/policy-learning-platform/events/trails-routes-for-tourism-development.
