The Technical Secretariat (TS), a working group representing over 51% of the EU hotel market, is calling on industry representatives, environmental organisations, policy authorities, and the public to review and provide feedback on the first draft of the Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) for hotel accommodation in the EU from February 3 to March 2, 2025. This initiative, led by the European Commission, aims to help the EU hotel industry measure the life cycle-wide environmental performance of their hotel accommodation services. Once finalised, it will support the industry in becoming more sustainable by substantiating green claims, facilitating fair competition, and allowing the industry to reduce efforts and costs while improving environmental performance.
To review the draft and provide feedback, follow the instructions via the attached link on the left-hand side of the platform. You can also join an informative webinar on the draft PEFCR and address your initial questions through the link below, in the Related Content section.
