The Interreg VI-A Bulgaria–Serbia Programme 2021–2027 has opened a €4.63 million funding call for cross-border projects that promote integrated territorial development and improved public services.

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria, in collaboration with the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia, has launched a call for project proposals under the Interreg VI-A Bulgaria–Serbia Programme 2021–2027. This initiative forms part of the programme’s Territorial Strategy, focusing on its second priority: “Integrated Territorial Development.”

The call supports projects that address specific territorial needs and make use of existing potential to enhance cross-border service delivery.

Eligible services include:

  • Mobile social care for elderly populations
  • Cross-border transport systems with unified ticketing
  • Waste management infrastructure
  • Real-time air and traffic monitoring
  • Establishment of energy communities

Eligible applicants include municipalities, public authorities, public enterprises with at least 51% public ownership, and non-governmental organisations located within the designated programme regions of both countries.

The total budget for this call is EUR 4.63 million, with a maximum of EUR 1 million available per project. Projects may receive up to 100% funding. Applications must be submitted online by 26 September 2025.
