The Waste Framework Directive was the subject of a targeted change suggested by the European Commission in July, 2023, with a particular emphasis on textile and food waste. By encouraging more circular and sustainable behaviours, this plan seeks to lessen the negative effects that waste management and generation have on the environment and the climate.
