According to Travel Tomorrow, Brussels Airport Company will offer a year of affordable green energy to residents in four nearby municipalities in Belgium: Zaventem, Machelen, Steenokkerzeel, and Kortenberg. Starting in February 2025, 100 pre-selected households will receive solar power from the airport at a reduced rate, potentially saving around €124 annually. This initiative, in collaboration with the energy platform Bolt and the European Stargate project, aims to enhance European aviation, test the feasibility of such schemes, and support the airport's goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
