Preparations for the Baltic Sea Tourism Forum 2026 (BSTF 2026) are well underway, with the organisers now unveiling the main themes that will shape this year's discussions. Taking place on 2–3 November 2026 in Elsinore (Helsingør), Denmark, the Forum will once again bring together tourism stakeholders from across the Baltic Sea Region to address some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

This year's programme will explore four major topics. Participants will discuss how destinations can respond to changing tourism behaviour at scale, from climate-neutral destination management to innovative initiatives such as Copenhagen's internationally recognised CopenPay concept. Another key theme will focus on cross-border rail tourism, examining how better connectivity and integrated transport solutions can support more sustainable travel across the region.

The Forum will also address the future of cruise tourism, exploring how the benefits of cruise visitors can be spread beyond major ports and into smaller destinations and local communities. Finally, BSTF 2026 will look ahead to the future of tourism, highlighting emerging trends, new partnerships, and innovations shaping tomorrow's visitor economy.

For more than two decades, the Baltic Sea Tourism Forum has served as the flagship tourism event of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR), providing a platform for dialogue, cooperation and knowledge exchange among destinations, public authorities, businesses and academia. Since 2022, the Forum has been coordinated by the Pomorskie Tourist Board (Poland) and the Council of Oulu Region (Finland) in their role as Coordinators of the EUSBSR Policy Area Tourism, working closely with the annual host destination.

This year's edition is organised in cooperation with VisitDenmark, Wonderful Copenhagen, Cruise Baltic and the Port of Helsingør, under the Danish Presidency of the EUSBSR. Tourism professionals, policymakers, researchers and businesses are encouraged to save the date and join the conversation on the future of tourism in the Baltic Sea Region.
