Casale Panayiotis, a boutique hotel located in the Troodos Mountains, has become the first hotel in Cyprus to receive certification from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). This milestone was highlighted in a post dated 20 February 2025 by the GreenHost Project, an initiative dedicated to promoting sustainable hospitality across Europe.

The certification was awarded based on the hotel’s implementation of various sustainability measures, including the adoption of renewable energy technologies, sourcing goods and services from local suppliers to support the regional economy, and restoring traditional Cypriot buildings to preserve architectural heritage.
