According to preliminary figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), Greek accommodation establishments recorded 5.58 million arrivals and 24.06 million overnight stays in June 2026 (arrivals +1.3%, overnight stays +1.4% year-on-year). Foreign visitors drove the increase, up 1.7% to 4.58 million arrivals, while resident (domestic) arrivals fell. Non-residents now account for more than four in five arrivals and nearly nine in ten overnight stays, underlining how dependent Greek tourist accommodation has become on international demand. Why it matters: this concentration risk is directly relevant to Greece's tourism strategy and to EU-level discussions on destination resilience and demand diversification.
