On 4 July 2025, in Udine, the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia presented a draft law aimed at consolidating the commerce and tourism sectors under a unified legislative framework. Unveiled during a meeting with ANCI FVG (the Regional Association of Municipalities), the proposal seeks to simplify regulations and promote cohesive development across the region.

The legislation highlights support for neighbourhood retail, tourism districts, cycling tourism, and the broader hospitality industry. If enacted, the law will come into effect on 1 January 2026, with a financial package of EUR 134 million allocated for 2026 and 2027.
