INSPIRES Trainer’s GuideTrain-the-Trainer Programme Training for Sustainable Innovative Practices, Resilience, and Empowerment in Tourism SME
The tourism sector is undergoing a twin transition, digital and green, driven by the need for resilience and sustainability. Tourism SMEs face significant challenges in keeping up with this rapid change. Therefore, the INSPIRES Train-the-Trainer Programme (TTP) supports tourism stakeholders in becoming multipliers in disseminating topical knowledge on sustainability and digitalisation for tourism SMEs. INSPIRES provides the tools to support these SMEs, as their success is essential for the overall resilience and sustainability of the European tourism sector.
The Train the Trainer Programme has been aligned with three main pillars of the Transition Pathway for Tourism: green transition, digital transition, and resilience. The pathway emphasises that SMEs need local multipliers and that training ecosystems must be aligned with the green, digital, and resilience goals.
The Train-the-Trainer Programme includes five highly relevant themes for Tourism SMEs:
- Risk Management and Resilience
- Circular Economy
- Regenerative Tourism
- Diversity and Inclusion in Tourism
- Emerging Technologies.
The above are also relevant for local and regional DMOs that work with Tourism SMEs.
Training sessions for multipliers have been held from October 2025 to February 2026. The training materials are openly accessible in English and in all partner languages (DE, NL, ES, PL, BG, FI).
