In 2020, no one in Belgium could report datas on outgoing travel from their inhabitants. The newly created Belgian Travel Confederation (2022) made it happen by issuing quartely reports analysing and gathering numerous datas from the outgoing Belgian travel global market as well as real datas from the Belgian organized travel market. The reports also contain updates on studies and EU legislation the sector need to know and adapt on. By doing so, the Belgian Travel Industry can compare and understand the Belgian travel behaviours. Travel Industry gets inspired by the changing habits and adapt their products accordingly.
BTC intends to provide sufficient datas from the real world, completing the survey one usually do to understand the inhabitants habits. Today, we gather datas from 100+ Travel agents and tour operators which represent 10% of the market. We aim to gather 50%+ of the markets datas by the end of 2024, depending of the speed we succeed to gather the necessary found to develop the tool ( + 70K in 2024).
We wish to share our datas and methodologies with other countries within EU and be an active part of the EU tourism data space.
