The FU-TOURISM project has, among its specific objectives, the analysis and development of comprehensive, sustainable, and resilient tourism strategies for SMEs to adapt to crises, shocks, and variability.
These comprehensive strategies are developed considering the resilience of local economies and long-term perspectives, while aiming to reduce the environmental and social impact of tourism. In this respect, the following key actions will be developed:
• Organizing good practice exchange sessions on local and national tourism strategies in the six countries involved in the SME investment support program (Croatia, Belgium, Spain, Greece, Poland, Austria). These sessions are also intended to lay the groundwork for the development of local tourism ecosystems that will be transversal throughout the project.
Although the exchange sessions have taken place during March and April 2024, the development of comprehensive sustainability strategies within the local tourism ecosystems will take place during the three years of the project (2023 -2026).
These actions will be reflected, among other inputs for the development of the FU-TOURISM project, in a Public Report on the systematic research and review of existing guidelines, methods, methods, tools and metrics, as well as mentoring and funding programs. This will include analysis of datasets and metrics to evaluate the impact of sustainable tourism across different tourism sub sectors. It will also include an in-depth review of sustainable tourism policies within the 6 participating member states. (Croatia, Belgium, Spain, Greece, Poland, Austria).
