Novatours Group, the market leader in the Baltic tourism market, has identified Sustainable Travel as one of its four main strategic directions since 2023. The Group began measuring its carbon footprint and developing climate targets for the coming years. Novatours Group has also launched an initiative to mark hotels as "Sustainable Choice" if they implement sustainability principles and have certifications from independent organizations recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
For now around 40% of Novatours Group's assortment of hotels for summer 2024 are marked as "Sustainable Choice." These hotels are working in different ways and to varying degrees to achieve the same goal: to provide quality services while minimizing their environmental footprint and contributing to the local community.
Through these actions, Novatours aims to provide its customers with as many sustainable options as possible and to minimize the negative environmental and social impact of tourism.
