- Visit Finland is using the information collection methodology for Sustainable Travel Programme which works at the same time as an awareness raising tool for companies and destinations about concrete actions they could take for better sustainability.
- This information collection survey is based on providing a research-based list of concrete actions that the companies or destinations could take, and asking the respondent to choose options of actions that they are taking
- Visit Finland provides training (e-learning, clinics, workshops and class room type of training) on implementing the action options as their support for companies and destinations
- The objective is to continuously increase the take-up of sustainability actions across companies and destinations.
- The progress can be measured from the STIs dashboard and in the state of sustainable tourism annual report, published online. First report has been published at: https://www.visitfinland.fi/49d3c8/globalassets/visitfinland.fi/vf-julkaisut/2023/state-of-sustainable-tourism-2022.pdf
- To support other countries and destinations, Visit Finland will provide an English version of the questionnaire, showing the list of research-based concrete sustainability actions for companies and destinations and publish it in 2024. These will be the annex of our State of Sustainable Tourism -report the latest in 2025.
