The BalkanVelo (Balkan Alternative Mobility Routes for Sustainable All-Season Tourism) project, funded by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria North Macedonia programme, aims to create a competitive, all-season tourism product called BankanVelo, prioritising sustainable and resilient tourism. Coordinated by the Razlog Municipality, it focuses on developing eco-friendly infrastructure, enhancing digital solutions, and promoting social tourism. Running from March 2025 to March 2027, its expected outcomes include improved connectivity between natural and cultural sites, increased tourism competitiveness, and strengthened socio-economic cooperation in the cross-border region.
