The FACILITATE project has been designed to support the current policy work on data management and sharing by developing guidelines on participating and using the D3HUB and the future common European tourism data space.It targets destinations and SMEs in the tourism sector,ensuring the green and digital transition of DMOs and tourism SMEs.

Understanding the needs of the tourism actors, especially in data management,FACILITATE will respond to these demands by providing: (a)An appropriate collaborative framework to engage tourism ecosystems to switch into data-driven culture, promoting systematic measurement for informed decision-making that translates sustainability values into actionable practices;

(b)Tailor-made support and capacity building opportunities for DMOs and SMEs, across Europe,covering all geographical areas and types of tourism destinations (rural, city, maritime…), which will grant access to digital tools and resources empowering tourism ecosystems to measure and benchmark their performance and impacts in line with the implementation of the TTP,towards shared objectives;

(c)A user ecosystem within the European Tourism Data Space,well-versed in its benefits, methodologies, data sets,digital tools,and collaborative stakeholders;
(d)Sound,updated and pragmatic guidelines designed for the tourism ecosystem, targeting DMOs and SMEs to improve their data management and sharing capabilities while benefiting from the services and tools developed by D3HUB, DEPLOYTOUR and other initiatives.

To ensure the fulfilment of its objectives, FACILITATE is backed by the participation of the coordinator and key partners of D3HUB and DEPLOYTOUR (also involved in other relevant EU projects and initiatives). This collaboration ensures access to first-hand information, guidance and support for DMOs and tourism SMEs.

A dedicated pool of experts will be formed, and end-users feedback/ support mechanisms will be established to ensure the guidelines' clarity, usefulness and efficacy.
