The MAST (MAking Sustainable Tourism possible) project, funded by the Interreg EURO-MED programme, aims to unite Mediterranean SMEs in the accommodation sector across Italy, Spain, Greece, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to lead sustainable tourism practices. Running from 1 January 2024 to 31 March 2026, and led by Carlo Bo University of Urbino (Italy) in partnership with four other organisations, the project is guided by the ISO 21401:2018 standard. It focuses on developing a sustainability protocol and a self-assessment tool that are easy to implement in accommodation enterprises, helping Mediterranean SME accommodations adopt more resilient, circular, and sustainable management systems.
