The RegenT project has launched with the goal of transforming tourism in the Baltic Sea Region through regenerative practices. As climate change poses growing challenges to the area, tourism—which both impacts and is impacted by environmental changes—must take on a role of stewardship for the natural and cultural assets it relies upon. By shifting focus from sustaining to actively restoring these assets, regenerative tourism offers a holistic solution that brings together public authorities, NGOs, and business entities to benefit local communities.

RegenT addresses this imperative need by developing a platform featuring two core components: a knowledge hub and a collaborative space for learning, knowledge exchange, and networking. Drawing on insights and innovations from seven EU projects, the platform provides crucial resources for regional and local decision-makers. These resources include training, policy recommendations, and strategic guidance on issues like attracting off-season tourists, creating climate resilience guidelines, and supporting local food networks.

The importance of RegenT lies in its potential to promote systemic changes within the tourism industry, contributing to resilient economies and communities and responsible management of cultural and natural heritage assets. As the project progresses, continuous updates and developments will be shared on their website. We encourage you to follow the project news to learn more about RegenT's impact and transformative potential in advancing regenerative tourism for a sustainable future.
