Gühring won the TechniShow Innovation Award for its Tool Circle system at the Dutch manufacturing technology trade fair on 12 March 2026. The jury recognised the solution as a proven circular response to volatile global tungsten carbide prices, developed in the Netherlands and ready for wider rollout across Europe.

Tool Circle is an integrated system for managing, issuing, maintaining and recycling cutting tools within production environments, combining software with automated storage, dispensing and logistics so that tools are available exactly when needed and fully recycled at the end of their working life, with precise tracking of both consumption and tools taken out of circulation. The jury highlighted that the system pairs a genuine circularity story with a clear business case: customers reduce cost and administrative burden while manufacturing keeps critical raw materials such as tungsten carbide circulating within the European supply chain rather than depending on volatile global sourcing. The system was developed by a small team within Gühring's Dutch production unit before the company's German parent organisation backed its rollout, an example of how a shop-floor idea at a national subsidiary can scale into a group-wide offering addressing both cost and raw-material resilience for machine tool users.
