UK robotics company Humanoid has partnered with Bosch to mass-produce its HMND 01 humanoid robot for the European market, following a successful intralogistics proof-of-concept at a Bosch facility in Bühl, Germany; series production is expected to start there in August 2027.

The proof-of-concept, completed in March 2026, had HMND 01 robots autonomously moving boxes of five different sizes and weights from conveyors to trolleys in one of Bosch's logistics facilities. Bosch will act as contract manufacturer under a "Design for Excellence" framework covering hardware design, production planning, supply chain and cost optimisation, and the two companies are also exploring whether Bosch components such as actuators, drives and sensors could be built into future versions of the robot. Humanoid has struck a similar deal with Schaeffler, which plans to deploy more than 1,000 of the robots at its own facilities, and reporting on the Bosch agreement notes that HMND's wheeled (rather than bipedal) design is helping it clear EU Machinery Directive certification faster than legged rivals.

For European manufacturing, this marks one of the first confirmed humanoid-robot production lines on the continent, rather than a pilot or import arrangement, and signals that established industrial suppliers such as Bosch and Schaeffler see near-term commercial potential in humanoid robotics for logistics and factory work. It is a useful data point for the platform's ongoing coverage of automation and robotics competitiveness relative to US and Chinese humanoid-robot developers.
