The main concept of the platform is personalisation. Next to the sections, the content is organised by descriptors. The descriptors are crucial for personalisation.

Descriptors are the main thematic criteria, which provide a description of how the platform delivers content to you.

There five main categories:

  • geography,
  • target users,
  • specific types of tourism,
  • business activities,
  • transition pathway strategic areas.

Pay attention to choosing which thematic criteria are relevant to you. Think it through and pick the right number of topics. If you pick too few – your scope of information will be too narrow. If you choose too many, you can end up receiving information irrelevant to you.

Our tip: by picking geographical criteria, choose only the countries of your particular interests. Don’t be afraid that by not choosing a country, you will not be notified about any events from it. You will get information from the topics you are interested in. By choosing too many countries you will be informed about too detailed information, sometimes irrelevant to you.

Descriptors in the specific types of tourism are listed by the purpose of coming that includes additional infrastructure (i.e. MICE tourism is connected with conferences and trade fairs halls or with hotels at a certain standard to meet the expectations of the business travellers)..

Our tip: There are 27 strategic areas of the Transition Pathway for Tourism, and they are all reflected in descriptors. Try to be picky when choosing your preferences. Many subjects are interconnected and cover more than one strategic area. Choosing the right ones, will lead you to a well-tailored content served automatically to you.

Do remember that the platform is not only to receive information but also your place to make your voice heard, to get visibility, network and collaborate remotely with other people from your industry.

Think of making a pledge, writing an article on the subject of your expertise, being involved in forum and discussion threads – it will bring you not only the knowledge and inspiration but also new connections and recognition in the industry.

Our tip: check in the calendar when our monthly webinars take place. It is a brilliant opportunity to get to know other people and familiarise yourself with experts’ opinions on the most relevant and trending topics in the European tourism ecosystem.

Our tip: If you find anything worth mentioning on the internet, and you find the source reliable, you can always share it with the community by posting a redirection: just find an appropriate title, a short description and paste the link. Your network will appreciate your engagement and as you will provide an important subject to be discussed.

Enjoy your time on the platform, and remember that you are a co-creator of it!
