The Rural Pact Community Platform has recognised a project in Slovenia's Posavje region, funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, aiming to diversify agricultural and aquacultural activities by integrating cultural heritage elements into tourism. Running from 2020 to 2022, it focused on linking aquaculture and viticulture, resulting in the creation of new cultural and green tourism products, including two visitor centres and the rejuvenation of abandoned cultural sites. Outcomes included increased tourism, local employment and the establishment of a new role within the Krško farmers' cooperative to coordinate and market the tourism product. For a detailed overview of best practices, including key principles, examples, challenges, and results, please refer to the attached link.
