Camp Mapping is a digital platform developed to enhance coordination between organisations offering aid to migrants, particularly those living in precarious street conditions. By collecting real-time data from volunteers across various associations, the platform maps what aid has been provided, where, and to whom. This visibility allows for better resource planning and minimises the duplication of services. Designed using no-code tools, Camp Mapping is both user-friendly and easily maintainable, ensuring accessibility for users with varied digital expertise. Its core function supports equity by helping stakeholders make fairer, more informed decisions about distributing aid. The platform also encourages co-opetition—a collaborative dynamic where organisations share knowledge and logistics to increase collective impact. Developed by Utopia 56, an association active across several French cities, the tool supports on-the-ground operations like food and supply distributions and informational outreach.
By fostering transparent, data-driven collaboration, Camp Mapping ensures that limited resources are directed where they are most needed, reinforcing the social economy’s mission of dignity and support for all.
“Mapping has become a tool to trace and manage the fragmented and mobile lives of exiles. In the Île-de-France region, the emergence of a territorialised care network reflects an effort to structure coordinated healthcare in response to the instability and vulnerability of migrant populations.”
