The Nature Experience Bulgaria project, funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation and completed in 2022, was a collaborative effort between German and Bulgarian partners. Its goal was to boost nature tourism by connecting visitors with expert guides in Bulgaria’s protected areas. The project aimed to enhance visitor experiences in national parks, nature parks, and biosphere reserves through guided tours led by trained experts. By improving visitor guiding systems, the initiative sought to create added value for both tourists and protected areas, utilizing the expertise of protected area staff to enrich visitor experiences and support sustainable tourism development in the region.
