The RAMSAT project, funded by Interreg Europe from August 1, 2019, to July 31, 2023, aimed to rejuvenate remote and mountainous regions through sustainable alternative tourism. The initiative organized two interregional workshops, four thematic seminars, and 36 local stakeholder meetings across Europe. Over the course of 36 months, partners shared knowledge and best practices to create action plans that balanced environmental, economic, and socio-cultural factors. These plans were designed to protect biodiversity, preserve natural environments, and increase visits to cultural and natural heritage sites, thereby promoting economic and social cohesion.
