Västarvet, based in West Sweden, implemented a practice that involved a working process, an evaluation of routes matrix, and a model for sustainable route organization. This project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program from 2017 to 2020, aimed to promote sustainable nature tourism. By sharing the work process, tools, and methods with municipalities and national organizations, they contributed to a national and northern European approach to managing sustainable routes. The goal was to enhance social, economic, and ecological sustainability in tourism.
