Wonderful Copenhagen has released an overview of the Sustainable Together project, coordinated by MeetDenmark in collaboration with VisitAarhus, Destination Fyn, Destination Nord, Wonderful Copenhagen, and MeetDenmark. This initiative aims to accelerate the green transition of Denmark’s business events sector by minimising environmental impact, enhancing positive societal contributions, and embedding sustainability as a strategic advantage.

The project focuses on key areas such as certification, climate action, sustainability networks, value creation, and effective communication. Between August 2022 and August 2023, it engaged more than 70 companies and 10 destinations. As a result, 38 businesses progressed towards certification, 16 committed to climate reduction initiatives, and 20 developed sustainability communication strategies.

Additionally, the launch of a national sustainability network and a pilot value chain programme has fostered stronger collaboration and positioned Denmark as a frontrunner in sustainable innovation within the business events industry.
