The topic, HORIZON-CID-2027-01-01, is an innovation action titled “R&I in Support of the Clean Industrial Deal: Decarbonisation of energy intensive industries”, implemented with the Processes4Planet and Clean Steel partnerships. HaDEA is in charge of this joint call, while CINEA leads a second topic. The call is announced alongside the Industry pillar calls of Cluster 4 but follows its own, later timetable, with an open window of more than eight months that leaves consortia time to assemble partners and demonstration sites.
It continues the line of the 2026 round of the same call, which closed on 15 September 2026, and reflects the Commission’s approach of financing demonstration of decarbonisation technologies in the sectors with the highest process heat, energy and feedstock needs. Processes4Planet brings together the European process industries, among them chemical production, while Clean Steel covers the steel value chain, so the topic is framed around technologies that can be deployed across sectors rather than in a single industry.
