The GreenChemForCE initiative supports Central European companies in shifting from linear manufacturing flows to circular production models. Its partners evaluate novel technologies that cut the use of hazardous solvents and facilitate the recycling of any remaining solvents. They also devise a roadmap for creating greener chemicals and provide training to a broad spectrum of companies on how to implement these solutions, thereby helping to clean up the sector.
In particular, the network's work includes developing continuous, intensified processes for chemically depolymerising nylon 6 waste, such as textiles and old fishing nets, building on a process already operated by a regional company. By connecting academic expertise directly with industrial partners facing practical production challenges, the project aims to support a local, circular waste supply chain in the region. For SMEs and research institutions in Central Europe, it offers a concrete route to cross-border collaboration on green chemistry.
