France Chimie won the National Associations and SMEs category for a programme helping chemical companies, particularly smaller ones without dedicated sustainability teams, adapt their operations to a changing climate. For SMEs that make up the bulk of France Chimie's membership, national trade association support of this kind is often the most realistic route to climate adaptation expertise that larger multinational members can access internally through their own corporate sustainability functions.

France Chimie was the most represented organisation among this year's winners and commendations, also picking up a National Associations commendation for its water-use programme (see below) and indirectly connected to the Techniques Chimiques Nouvelles zero-waste winner, a member company operating under its umbrella. Taken together, these three recognitions reflect the association's active role in supporting the smaller end of the French chemical sector's transition, providing shared tools, guidance and frameworks that individual SMEs would struggle to develop on their own, alongside the large multinational sites more typically associated with Responsible Care headlines and award announcements.
