Household electricity prices in 1st half of 2025: -0.5%

In the first half of 2025, the average electricity price for households in the EU remained largely stable at EUR 28.72 per 100 kWh, following a -0.5% decrease from EUR 28.87 in the second half of 2024. This continues the period of price stability, although the prices are still well above pre-2022 energy crisis levels.

The share of taxes and levies in electricity bills increased from 24.7% in the second half of 2024 to 27.6% in the first half of 2025. As a result, the decrease in the pre-tax electricity prices has not yet been reflected in the final prices for consumers.
