The Eurocodes are the common European standards for the structural design of buildings and civil engineering works, and a second generation is now being introduced. The webinar will focus on Eurocode 5, which covers the design of timber structures. Experts from CEN/TC 250/SC 5, the Committee that maintains the standard, will explain what has changed and why. Topics will include new design rules for cross-laminated timber (CLT) and reinforcements, revised rules for connections and floor vibration, and updates to fire design (EN 1995-1-2) and timber bridges (EN 1995-2). The webinar will be of particular interest to engineers, architects, designers and researchers. Participation requires an EU Login account, and registration closes on 30 October 2026. Register here.
