The European Commission's report 'Analysis of life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of EU buildings and construction' evaluates strategies and policy scenarios aimed at decarbonising the EU building sector by 2050.

The report assesses six emission-reduction strategies based on the 'avoid, shift, improve' framework, covering the entire building life cycle. Additionally, it examines six policy scenarios with varying levels of ambition and integration of these strategies.

The findings aim to guide effective policy-making at both the EU and Member State levels to achieve significant emissions reductions in the building sector.
