At the 2025 Cleantech Conference, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen underscored the EU's commitment to leading the global clean technology sector. She celebrated Europe's progress in clean tech innovation, highlighting the continent's role in driving sustainable solutions.  

 

President von der Leyen emphasised the importance of strategic investments and robust policy frameworks to support the clean tech industry's growth. She called for enhanced collaboration among EU Member States, industry stakeholders, and research institutions to accelerate the development and deployment of clean technologies. 

 

The speech also addressed the need for regulatory clarity and streamlined processes to facilitate innovation and market entry for clean tech solutions. President von der Leyen reaffirmed the EU's dedication to achieving climate neutrality by 2050, positioning clean technology as a cornerstone of this ambition. 

 

In conclusion, she urged collective action to harness Europe's full potential in clean tech, ensuring the continent remains at the forefront of the global transition to a sustainable future.
