Slovenia and Romania record highest growth in EU construction output in June 2026

Slovenia and Romania recorded the highest annual increases in construction output among EU Member States in June 2026. Construction output increased by 22.9% in Slovenia and 18.4% in Romania compared with June 2025.

Data published by Eurostat show that construction output in June 2026 increased by 22.9% year-on-year in Slovenia and 18.4% year-on-year in Romania, the highest annual increases recorded among EU Member States for which data were available. 

On a monthly basis, Romania recorded a 4.9% increase in construction output compared with May 2026, while Slovenia recorded a 0.4% decrease. In the European Union overall, construction output increased by 0.2% year-on-year and decreased by 1.0% month-on-month in June 2026. The figures were published by Eurostat on 20 August 2026
