Construction materials prices in the UK were 6.0% higher in June 2026 than a year earlier. Fabricated structural steel recorded the largest increase, while cement prices declined.

The UK Department for Business and Trade reported a 6.0% year-on-year increase in construction materials prices in June 2026. Price increases were recorded across new housing, other new work, and repair and maintenance activities.
Among individual materials, fabricated structural steel recorded an annual price increase of 17.7%. Pipes and fittings also increased in price. Over the same period, cement prices fell by 4.5%.
