European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has established 14 Project Groups to ensure coordination on topical issues, key cross-cutting initiatives, and horizontal policies. Each Project Group has its own mandate, composition, duration, and working methods. Moreover, each Project Group will be chaired by a Member of the College, designated by the President. The respective group chairs will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of its mandate.

Projects Groups are the following:

Clean Industrial Deal; Artificial Intelligence; External Action; Skills, Jobs and Social Rights; Economic Security; Defence Union; European Savings and Investments Union; Preparedness Union; European Internal Security; Water Resilience; Affordable Housing chaired by the Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen; Startups and Scaleups; European Democracy Shield; Vision for Agriculture and Food.

The Project Groups will facilitate collaboration with other Members of the Commission and associated services, ensuring collegiality and consistency. They are established for an initial period of one year, which can be renewed for the duration necessary to achieve the specific mission for which they have been created.

If new priorities arise that require the coordination of additional cross-cutting policy elements, new Project Groups may be established to address these emerging needs.
