In 2023, despite the pandemic’s impact, the number of overnight domestic trips in Latvia surpassed 2019 levels by 16.3%, reaching 2.9 million trips. Of these, 58.6% were spent in accommodation provided free of charge by relatives or friends, followed by stays in personal holiday homes (15.1%). The National Statistical System of Latvia offers more data through a free, automatically updated statistical database. Users can select criteria and explore the number of nights spent and the average duration of domestic trips by Latvian residents, categorized by type of accommodation, from 2012 to 2023.
