Statistics Denmark, the national authority for Danish statistics, publishes data on the cultural and recreational activities of Denmark’s residents. This information is based on the Cultural Habits Survey, conducted regularly since 1964 in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, to monitor and document cultural engagement across the country.
According to the latest data from Q4 2024, 63% of the population reported visiting a museum, while 67% had visited Danish cultural heritage sites or viewed heritage objects.
The survey provides insights into participation in a variety of cultural and recreational activities—such as cinema, concerts or music festivals, live or digital performances, libraries, museums, sporting events, and heritage sites—broken down by age, gender, quarter, and level of urbanisation.
